Two ways, both from your Civic Score — no separate mode, no pass to unlock. First: reach Icon, the top of the 6-rank ladder, for a one-time ₹5,000 reward, limited to the first 10 members who ever get there. Second: every calendar month, the top 5 Civic Scores split 95% of that month's real platform revenue — 35% / 25% / 18% / 12% / 10% — and scores reset on the 1st, so it's a fresh race monthly.

Each poll is a simple Yes/No question. When a poll closes, Vaaruna tallies all valid votes and the option with more than 50% of votes is the majority — that's the poll's verdict. Results are publicly visible in real time — there is no hidden adjustment or editorial influence. One device, one vote: the result is exactly what participants voted.

Once you tap "Claim" in the app and provide your UPI ID (or bank account & IFSC for the Icon reward), your account goes through an integrity verification review. The monthly top-5 prize is paid within 24–48 hours of a verified claim. The Icon reward is paid as soon as your claim is verified — you'll get an in-app notification when the transfer is sent. Contact support@vaaruna.app if you haven't received payment within 5 business days of verification.

Rewards are subject to an integrity check. Your reward may be withheld and your account banned if we find evidence of: creating multiple accounts, voting from emulated or spoofed devices, using VPNs to circumvent device restrictions, or any coordinated artificial voting behaviour. Our integrity team's decision is final. To ensure you remain eligible, use only one account from your own device.

Yes. Your data is stored on Supabase with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit. We collect only what's necessary to run the service. We never sell your data to third parties. Your voting history is private by default — you control what appears on your public profile. Bank details collected for reward claims are stored securely and deleted after the transfer is confirmed. Every device has a unique identifier (Android ID). When you vote on a poll, Vaaruna records your device identifier alongside the vote. Any subsequent attempt to vote on the same poll from the same device — regardless of the account used — is rejected. This ensures each physical device can only influence a poll once, making results genuinely reflective of real people's opinions. The device identifier is used only for this purpose and is never used for advertising.

You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Settings → Delete Account. This is immediate — your profile, photo, bank details, and personal data are removed the moment you confirm. Your past votes stay in poll results (so other voters' history isn't disrupted), fully de-identified from you. Alternatively, email support@vaaruna.app from the address associated with your account and request deletion. Note: deleting your account forfeits any unclaimed rewards.

There's a single mode — no pass to earn, nothing to switch. Every account starts at 10 free votes a day, and your Civic Score climbs six ranks: Voice, Torch, Pillar, Guardian, Champion, Icon. Each rank raises your daily vote cap (up to 40 a day at Icon) and adds real status — a rank badge, your rank shown beside your comments, pinning your own comments, a verified tick, a gold profile frame, and at Icon, a monthly Discover spotlight. Icon also unlocks the one-time ₹5,000 reward. Separately, the monthly top-5 Civic Scores split a share of real revenue — no rank required to compete, just a high score that month.

Yes. Universities, NGOs, RWAs, companies, and other organisations can register directly in the app as an organisation account and publish their own polls to the Vaaruna community. This is a powerful tool for community surveys, student body votes, neighbourhood decisions, and more.
