Welcome to Vaaruna. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Vaaruna mobile application ("App") and website at vaaruna.in ("Site"), collectively referred to as the "Service". By downloading, installing, or using Vaaruna, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Vaaruna.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

By using Vaaruna, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
Each person may create and maintain only one Vaaruna account. Creating multiple accounts — whether using different email addresses, devices, or any other method — is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent termination of all associated accounts.
Each poll allows exactly one vote per device. Attempting to vote more than once on the same poll by using multiple devices, emulators, VPNs, or any other technical means is a serious violation of these Terms and will result in account termination.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account used to sign in to Vaaruna. Notify us immediately at support@vaaruna.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when using the Service, including any bank or payment details provided when claiming cash rewards.
You agree not to:
Vote Packs may be purchased within Rewards Mode, once unlocked, to acquire additional votes beyond your free daily allocation. All payments are processed by Google Play, a third-party payment platform. By making a purchase, you also agree to Google Play's terms of service.
Vote Packs are non-refundable once they have been used. If you purchase a Vote Pack and the votes have not yet been used, you may contact support@vaaruna.app within 24 hours of purchase to request a refund at our discretion. We are unable to refund packs once votes have been spent.
Vote Pack prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of GST at the prevailing rate (currently 18%). We reserve the right to change prices at any time; changes will not affect purchases already completed.
If a payment fails after being debited from your account and votes are not credited, please contact support@vaaruna.app with your Google Play order ID. We will investigate and resolve the issue within 3 business days.
Cash rewards are available exclusively in Rewards Mode, which itself must be unlocked by earning a Voter's Pass through genuine Civic Mode participation. Within Rewards Mode, reaching a designated Rewards Score gate (Spark, Edge, Seer, Sage, Oracle, or Legend) makes that tier's amount claimable — the two lowest gates pay a fixed amount, the higher gates pay from that week's reward pool. Reaching a tier does not automatically guarantee payment — rewards are subject to verification as described below.
Before any cash reward is paid, Vaaruna conducts an integrity review of the claiming account. Rewards will be withheld and the account may be permanently banned if we determine that the rank or achievement was obtained through:
Our determination in integrity reviews is final.
Verified rewards are transferred by direct bank transfer or UPI from that day's payout budget where possible, or automatically the following morning if the daily budget is exhausted — a claim is never refused, only delayed. Vaaruna is not responsible for delays caused by your bank or payment service provider.
We do not guarantee that any specific number of users will receive rewards at any given time. The availability of cash rewards depends on platform viability and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued with reasonable notice. Rewards not yet claimed are not vested rights.
You are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from cash rewards received from Vaaruna. We may deduct Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) as required under applicable Indian tax law and will issue a TDS certificate accordingly.
Universities, NGOs, RWAs, companies, and other organisations may register on Vaaruna to publish polls. By publishing a poll, the organisation confirms that:

All content in the Vaaruna App and Site — including the name "Vaaruna", logo, design, UI, and original text — is the intellectual property of Vaaruna and protected under applicable Indian and international law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.
Poll questions published by users or organisations remain the intellectual property of their authors. By submitting a poll, the author grants Vaaruna a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute the poll within the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for:
You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. Upon deletion, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Vaaruna does not warrant that (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) any poll results represent the opinion of any defined population beyond the users who participated; or (c) rewards will remain available indefinitely.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vaaruna and its founder, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount paid by you to Vaaruna in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000 (Indian Rupees one thousand), whichever is greater.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting support@vaaruna.app. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
